I'm often reminded that God allows the valleys in our lives to redirect our focus and our paths. We think that things happen because of some wrong that we've done or as a consequence for lack of action. We wonder where are the friends/cheerleaders when we need them most. We start questioning everything happening because we can't make sense of it all. But Beautiful, did you ever think that God allowed the valley because He's trying to draw us closer to Him? Think about it:
- When things are going right, are you praying to God the same?
- When things are going right, are you in your word?
- When things are going right, are you getting still?
- When things are going right, do you rest?
As I sit here and write this message, I am reminded that even in the valley that God is with me. I'm reminded that even in the beautiful moments He is with me. I'm reminded that God is with me EVERY time but it's me that's been distant. Don't take the beautiful moments for granted anymore! When your body says rest, rest. When your mind says be still and know, be still and know! When God says just pray, pray!
Let the words of Jeremiah 29:13 "If your look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me" encourage you to look for God at all times. He's there for us for more than just the valleys.
